Jeff Foxworthy was born on September 6, 1958, in Atlanta, GA. Foxworthy started out at IBM in mainframe computer maintenance. While at IBM Foxworthy was encouraged to enter the Great Southeastern Laugh-off, which he won in 1984. Soon, Foxworthy began appearing on comedy circuits around the county and in 1990 received the award for “Best Stand-Up Comic” at the 1990 American Comedy Awards. Laughing Hyena Records helped launch Foxworthy’s career with records such as King of the Rednecks.” Another of Foxworthy’s Laughing Hyena releases “The Redneck Test” is the best-selling comedy album of all time, selling over 4 million copies. He also had 2 Warner Brothers releases that sold over 3 million each. Foxworthy moved his career into television with the show The Jeff Foxworthy Show in 1995 and then hosted the game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? in 1999. Foxworthy toured with Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall on The Blue Collar Comedy Tour in the early 2000s.
